The Umo App simplifies fare payment for transit riders with its reloadable system, allowing convenient payment by using the Umo App on their phone to interact with the electronic reader when boarding the bus, ensuring a hassle-free and efficient travel experience.
How does the Umo App work?
Once you purchase a Umo Pass or Cash Balance on the Umo App, scan the Umo Mobility App's unique QR code, which automatically applies the pass or cash balance for your journey. The Umo reader validates your pass or deduct the amount of the fare for your trip.
What is a Umo Pass?
A Umo Pass is a convenient reloadable fare-payment method, enabling easy payment by tapping a pre-loaded Umo card or holding your phone with the Umo Mobility App to an electronic reader while boarding the bus. Use a Umo Pass to ensure a seamless fare-payment experience.
How do I buy a pass on the Umo App?
You can buy a Umo Pass in the Umo App by tapping the Wallet icon. From there, select Passes and tap Buy a pass. Choose the desired pass on the Select Pass screen and tap Purchase. Enter your payment method details on the Payment Method screen and tap Continue to complete the transaction.
What is a Umo Card?
A Umo Card simplifies fare payments for riders with its reloadable system, allowing convenient payment and ensuring an efficient travel experience. Once you have loaded money onto your Umo Card, tap it on the electronic reader when boarding your bus.
How do I buy a pass for my Umo Card?
To buy a Umo Card pass: 1) Log in to the Umo Passenger Portal 2) Click Buy Value or a Pass 3) Select the pass you want to purchase 4) click Checkout 5) Select or enter your payment method 6) Review your Card and Billing Information details and click Purchase.
How do I use my Umo Card?
To use your Umo Card, hold the card within two inches and towards the bottom of the Umo reader when boarding. Umo readers are conveniently placed next to fare boxes on buses, enabling riders to tap their card when boarding. Once read, the display on the reader will confirm successful fare payment.
What is Umo fare capping?
Umo fare capping allows you to deposit a Umo "Cash Balance" into your Umo account and pay for each bus ride. Once the total fares reach the cost of a day or monthly pass, no additional fare is needed for the rest of that day or month.
How do I replace my lost or stolen Umo Card?
You can replace your lost or stolen Umo Card by visiting your local transit agency for a small fee. The replacement card will retain existing passes, Umo "Cash Balances," and account information upon registration, ensuring a seamless transition.
Can I use Umo to pay for more than one rider?
No. Fare payment cannot be shared among multiple riders using the same Umo Card or Umo App. Each individual rider must have their own card or mobile device with their own pass or stored value for proper fare payment.
However, if you have a Umo Card account, you can link it to another rider's Umo Card account to buy stored value or passes for them. Simply go to the Umo Passenger Portal (umopass.com for U.S. riders, and ca.umopass.com for non-U.S. riders) and navigate to the My Wallet tab > Link an Account > OK.
